At the very core of the Clarke Foundation Theatre is the group of community volunteers that makes every event at the theatre a special one. Since the theatre opened in 1997, the Usher’s Group have provided assistance at every single event and in 2002 were recognized by the District Of Mission for their amazing contribution to the cultural fabric of the community.
The Ushers have been a consistent and dedicated group of volunteers who are willing to come out and donate at least eight hours per month to ensure the comfort and safety of all the audience members. Most go far beyond the eight hours and some have become regular fixtures at all events. The performers, community, staff and audience have come to rely heavily on this amazing bunch of people.
The group is always looking for new volunteers, and orientation sessions are held annually to promote safety standards and customer service. However, volunteers are accepted all year and special individualized training is always available. It is a great way to meet new people, see some shows and get first hand experience in show business.
